Morning Smoothie
INGREDIENTS
- 1 – 1 inch piece of fresh ginger*, chopped into small pieces (add a bit of chopped, raw turmeric root for inflammation reduction, as needed) 
- 1 frozen banana (tip – I break my fresh bananas into chunks of 3 prior to freezing) 
- 2 large handfuls of spinach* (any green you have on hand will do) 
- 2 Medjool dates, chopped into small pieces 
- Combination of frozen fruit of choice (wild blueberries, raspberries, mango, pineapple, strawberries, whatever you like or have on hand), half a ripe avocado is a great addition too 
- 1 tbsp. organic chia seeds 
- 1 tsp. Organic Barley Grass Powder 
- 1 tsp. Organic Spirulina or Organic Chlorella 
- ½ cup coconut water or almond milk (or milk of your choice) 
- Filtered water 
DIRECTIONS
I use a classic Nutribullet personal blender for this recipe. Add the ingredients, in the order listed above, to the blender. Top off with water and blend until smooth. This recipe makes 2 servings. Share the second serving with someone else or save for a mid-morning snack!
